To choose the perfect print for your products, you must decide on the sort of customer you are selling to.


Here are my top 5 print personas or brand archetypes commonly used to determine your typical target customers in women's fashion. Let me know which resonates with your brand vibe the most!



  1. The Lover:

    Characteristics: Passionate, intimate, and sensual. Brands embodying this archetype focus on beauty, desire, and emotional connection.

    Target Customer: Women who value romance, elegance, and personal relationships. They seek brands that make them feel special and cherished. Print Ideas: Romantic florals, lace patterns, heart motifs, and soft, flowing designs.


    Colour Palette: Soft pinks, deep reds, blush tones, and gold accents.

    Examples: Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, Zimmermann, Camilla.


  2. The Creator:

    Characteristics: Innovative, artistic, and bold. These brands emphasise creativity, originality, and self-expression.

    Target Customer: Women who are artistic and imaginative and appreciate unique, high-quality designs. They are often trendsetters and value individuality. Print Ideas: Abstract art, bold geometric patterns, hand-drawn sketches, and eclectic mixes of textures.

    Examples: Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Romance Was Born, Alemais.


  3. The Explorer:

    Characteristics: Adventurous, independent, and free-spirited. Brands in this archetype promote discovery, freedom, and a connection with nature.

    Target Customer: Adventurous women who love to travel and seek new experiences. They prefer functional yet stylish clothing that supports their bohemian lifestyle. Print Ideas: Nature-inspired, bohemian patterns and earthy textures.

    Examples: Ulla Johnson, Johanna Ortiz, Boteh, Free People.


  4. The Ruler:

    Characteristics: Authoritative, sophisticated, and commanding. These brands project power, control, and exclusivity.

    Target Customer: Women who are ambitious and successful and seek to project an image of power and sophistication. They often prefer luxury and high-end fashion. Print Ideas: Luxurious damask, regal brocades, black and white stripes, plaid and animal print.

    Examples: Louis Vuitton, Versace, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Balmain.

    Characteristics: This archetype is relatable, down-to-earth, and approachable. These brands embody simplicity, classicism, reliability, and inclusivity.

    Target Customer: Women who value practicality, comfort, and authenticity. They appreciate brands that are accessible and relatable. Print Ideas: Subtle stripes, gingham, and minimalistic patterns like ditsy and dots.

    Examples: Acne Studios, Max Mara, Cos, Uniqlo.
